Hi it's me, Inga, again. I'm going to tell you about Artemis. She is the
twin sister of Apollo. Her father is Zeus. Her mother is Leto. She is
the goddess of forests, hills, fertility, and the hunt. The deer and the
cypress are sacred to her. She is the roman goddess Diana.
Did you know that once when Artemis was bathing
a prince named Actaeon as watching her so she turned him into a stag?
His own hounds devoured him. That's one big punishment! She also killed
a man named Adonis. Adonis was a favorite of Aphrodite, and Aphrodite
was responsible for the death of Hippolytus, who was a favorite of Artemis.
That is why she killed him! It's pretty easy to see that Aphrodite and
Artemis aren't exactly the best of friends. Did you know that they (and
one other goddess) started the Trojan War! To see how exactly they did
it, click on Christine's Trojan War paper! Bye!
