Hi! It's me, Michelle. I'm here to tell you about the ten suns. It sounds weird that I said that we have ten suns, but in the old world we did.

There were once ten suns in the world. Every morning, one of the suns would take turn to rise in the east. The sun's hotness would give warmth and light to the land. The sun would always have always had a journey to the far west. There just as the day ended, it would slip behind Mount Yen Tzu and disappear.

In the west, beyond Mount west. There just as the day ended, it would slip behind Mount Yen Tzu and disappear.

In the west, beyond Mount Ye Tzu, the sun's mother, the goddess Xi Hi would be waiting. When the last one arrived, God Xi Hi would take her ten children to the valley of light in the east. She would wash them there. When she was done, she would put them into bed in a giant Mulberry Tree called Fu- Shang. They would rest in it's branches until it was time for the next sun to make a journey.

One night a sun asked it's brother how the world looked. The brother said that the river shone like sliver snakes and the hills were covered with trees like a green quilt. He also saw farmers and trades men. One said that he had four more days to wait. One said that he did not want to wait at all. Then one said that we shall all go tomorrow.

The next morning all ten suns woke up and raised. It got brighter and brighter. Then it burned the leaves and it busted into flames. Stone on the ground melted, seas, river, and lakes were boiling. Wherever creature go, the sun would find them. The people were in despair. In Emperor Yao' palace, he was suffering along with his people. The rivers had dried up, crops and animals had died. They complained. They also said they might died.

Di Jun, the father of the suns, asked Yi to scare them down. Yi went to the field and took an aim and fired. Yi did not mean to scare them, but to kill them. One by one they dropped down, but one. He took his last arrow, but he decided to not to kill them his last child. Di Jun was furious. As his punishment, he was forced to live on the earth as a mortal.
